The Summary Panda Chrome extension ("the Extension") summarizes web content and generates social media posts using OpenAI's chat GPT. All processing occurs client-side within your browser; we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

2. Information we process (Locally)

When you use the Extension, the following information is processed locally in your browser:
 

• Page Content: Text from web pages you choose to summarize.

• Generated Content: Summaries and posts created by OpenAI.

• Page Metadata: Page title and URL for context.

• User Preferences: Your selected tone, audience, and content types (stored locally).
   

3. How we use your information

All data processing is performed on your device. Page content and metadata are sent directly to OpenAI using solely for generating summaries and social media posts. User preferences are stored locally for a consistent experience.
 

4. Data storage and security

We do not store any of your personal data. Only user preferences are stored locally in your browser's extension storage. We do not operate any servers that collect or store your data.

5. Data sharing

We do not share, sell, or trade any data. The only third-party service involved is OpenAI, to whom page content is sent directly for processing under their privacy policy.

6. Your rights and controls

As we do not collect your data, you have inherent control: no registration is required, preferences are local.

7. Browser permissions

The extension requests the following permissions, essential for its function:

• activeTab: To access current tab info and content when invoked.

• scripting: To extract page content.

• storage: To save user preferences locally.

• contextMenus: To add a right-click summarization option.

• tabs: To query tab info and open new tabs for social media posting.

• host_permissions (<all_urls>): To allow content extraction from any webpage when explicitly triggered by the user.

 

8. Children's privacy

This Extension is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. International Users

As processing is local, we do not initiate international data transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date.

Since we do not store personal data, there is no risk of data breaches from our side.
